Caithness Seacoast is a boat tour company owned by local Caithness couple William and Adelaine Munro. William has over 40 years seagoing experience, partly owing to his career as a Merchant Navy ship’s captain for over 25 years. Combining this vast experience and their wealth of inherent local knowledge, William and Adelaine have created a very successful company which offers both locals and visitors to the area a unique view of the Caithness landscape and wildlife only viewable from the sea.
Caithness Seacoast approached Larus Digital to create a custom website which they could use as a platform to showcase the excitement to be had on one of their coastal powerboat tours.
Their previous website was running on a proprietary content management system (the software used to allow easy administration of a website by its owner) that hadn’t been updated in a while. For them, this meant that keeping their website up to date became a rather expensive process of having to contact the original developer to implement changes, instead of them being able to do it themselves. The old website was also built before mobile devices had hit their peak, so it didn’t work very well for the masses of visitors now using mobile gadgets, such as tablets and smartphones when researching things to do while on holiday.
In addition to their need for a new online platform, Caithness Seacoast sought help in taking advantage of everything social media has to offer, in terms of creating avenues for exposure. As part of the package, we were able to link their key social media accounts into the website in a functional, low-maintenance manner.
Our fantastic new website put together by Gordon (assisted by Kenny from North Design) has just gone live. We are very pleased with the outcome and the professional manner in which it was provided. We would thoroughly recommend their services, especially for those with limited marketing experience on social media and the internet.

Since its launch, we’ve also been assisting with their Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest activities, helping to get ahead in the fast-evolving world of digital tourism. To future-proof their efforts, we’re implementing ways in which William and Adelaine can evaluate and measure the success of their online campaign, and allowing them to self-manage their content going forward.
