Frequently Asked Questions

How closely will you work with us on our project?

You’ll have plenty of opportunities to review our work and provide feedback. We’ll either share a Dropbox, Google Drive folder, OneDrive folder, BitBucket repository or a test site with you and we’ll have regular, possibly daily contact.

Will you add all our content to our new website?

Unless agreed separately, we’re not responsible for inputting pages, text or images into your WordPress or Perch site. We can also point you in the direction of some fantastic professional copywriting and editing services should you require them.

Will our website look the same in all browsers?

Browser testing no longer attempts to force a website into looking the same in browsers of different capabilities or on devices with different screen sizes. Instead, it means ensuring that a person’s experience of a website design should be appropriate to the capacity of a browser or device.

We test all our work in all current versions of the main desktop browsers, including those made by Apple (Safari), Google (Chrome), Microsoft (Edge), Mozilla Firefox and Opera. We’ll also test to ensure people using Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 for Windows get an appropriate experience. We wouldn’t be testing in other older browsers unless we agreed to that separately. If you need a design enhanced for older browser versions, let us know, and we can provide an additional quote for that.

Mobile browser testing is an essential part of ensuring that a person’s experience of the design is appropriate to the capabilities of the device they’re using. We test our designs in Safari, Google Chrome and Google Chrome on Android Emulator. We wouldn’t check in Blackberry, Opera Mini/Mobile, Windows or other mobile browsers unless we agree to this separately.

Technical Support

The way we work with clients and the way we prototype websites ensures that any bugs are caught early in the development phase, but we’re more than happy to make sure that any bugs developing later are fixed in a very timely fashion.

One thing to note is that Larus Digital isn’t a hosting company, so we don’t offer support for website hosting, email or other hosting services. If you don’t already have hosting, we can set up an account for you with one of our preferred hosting providers, relevant to your needs.

What about search engine optimisation (SEO)?

While we can’t guarantee your new design alone will improve your website’s search engine rankings, we do ensure the websites we build are very accessible to search engines. We will work with you to develop the best approach to getting your pages to perform in the way you want. We also install Google Analytics on all our client websites by default as it allows us to help you make important decisions about your content and copy.

Can I make changes to the design and make additions?

We certainly don’t want to limit your ability to change your mind. The price you are quoted at the beginning of the project is based on the amount of work we estimate needed to complete your website, but we’re happy to be flexible. If you want to change your mind or add anything new, that won’t be a problem as we’ll provide a separate quote for the additional work required.

What if I change my mind?

If at any stage you change your mind about what you want to be delivered and are not happy with the direction our work is taking, you’ll simply pay us in full for the time we’ve spent working with you until that point.

What is the payment schedule?

We issue invoices electronically. Our payment terms are 14 days from the date of invoice by PayPal, BACS or the SWIFT international payments system. All proposals are quoted in Pounds Sterling and payments will be made at the equivalent conversion rate at the date the transfer is made. It will be your responsibility to pay all charges associated with international transfers of funds. The appropriate bank account information will be detailed on the electronic invoice we send you.
